If a weekend in the sun has left you looking a little lobster-like, these super healthy and antioxidant-rich foods will go some way to fighting the damage. We're talking beauty from within, ladies.

Fatty Fish

Fish is a great source of Omega 3s, which provide the skin with internal protection against the sun’s damaging rays. Wild salmon and other red-hued seafood also contain an antioxidant called astaxanthin, which mitigates the damaging and aging effects of sun exposure. In addition, all fish contain selenium and protein – vital for skin repair.

Pomegranates

Try adding some pomegranate seeds to your salad today, as the fruit contains high levels of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits. Nutrients in pomegranates have also been found to help prevent UVB radiation from causing cancer-inducing damage to the skin.

Green Tea

A hot drink might not be high on your wish list on a balmy summer’s day but it contains a powerful antioxidant – epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) – that fights against inflammation in the skin. The antioxidant helps neutralise free radicals, which limits their ability to cause damage to the skin. It can even help prevent wrinkles and other issues from developing. Black tea can also help because of its quercetin content, which helps protect the skin.
